We reccomend washing the runner before using it so that the weave thickens and doesn't allow stains to deeply penetrate; moreover, the first wash helps remove any excess color. Match them to same color runners or placemats: for a contrast opt for placemats and runners with darker tones such as black, sand or grey. For a cool and fun table you can get creative and play with different napkins that have the same color tones (e.g. black, grey and white).
